While Harrison High School’s JV volleyball team came out strong against Mesa Ridge, they ultimately lost the match 0-2. Harrison struggled in the first set, making too many mistakes on serve receive and consequently had a hard time converting balls into aggressive attacks. After the interim between the two sets, HHS recovered some momentum and was able to play a much stronger second game. The Panthers earned more kills, improved their passing, and also more than doubled their digs during game two, finishing 21-25.
Sophomore libero Nasreen Escobar won Player of the Match. Escobar led the back row, passing a 2.11 and tied for second place with digs. Plus, Escobar served with 100% consistency. Escobar’s positive energy and determination were a major factor contributing to the Panthers’ improvement in set two.
