Elizabeth High School
Harrison High School
In a challenging match against Elizabeth, the Panthers lost in three sets. While the Panthers held the Cardinals at 20-20 in both sets, Harrison was unable to push hard to the finish line, losing the first and second 22-25. The Panthers did an awesome job of making up point deficits through smart plays and terrific defense, led in particular by sophomore Diamond Moore Heath. However, the Cardinals countered with strong digging and great line attacks, which the Panthers struggled to defend against. While the Panthers passed well and served a 92% as a team earning 4 aces, they were unable to overcome the Cardinals on the net, repeatedly hitting into the strong block or out in an effort to avoid it. The Panthers look forward to continuing to work on running a faster offense and placing the ball better.
Senior middle blocker Kaylene Richardson took Player of the Match for Harrison during their game against Elizabeth. Richardson served with 100% accuracy and also gained an ace with her challenging short serve. Furthermore, she contributed two blocks as well as many touches throughout the sets. Richardson hit a .333 from the middle using a wide arsenal of attacks. Plus she passed a 1.75 and gained three digs.
