Harrison High School
Ellicott High School
While the Panthers came out viciously in their opening set against the Ellicott Thunderhawks, they were not able to sustain their mental strength and lost in four sets. The Panthers were able to make up an early deficit due to powerful serves and cunning play off of the net, but ultimately they started to beat themselves with unforced errors and miscommunication. The Panthers struggled to adjust to the second contact free balls that the Thunderhawks used repeatedly and were off on their attacking game. While Harrison earned 97 digs as a team, they hit negatively, leading to their defeat.
Freshmen swing player Amyah Moore Allen won Player of the Match for Harrison. Not only did she come off the bench in the second set to earn all of her stats, but she handled herself with composure and court awareness. She served 100% of her serves into the court and hit a .188 from the outside, Defensively, she passed a 2.00 and earned 10 digs, positioning her third on the team.
