Game Recap

In a thrilling match against the Mesa Ridge’s JV, the Panthers were unable to ultimately clench victory in three sets. The Panthers easily overtook the Grizzlies in the first set due to the other team’s frequent unforced errors as well as tough swings and well-placed serves from Harrison. Unfortunately, Mesa Ridge reset during the second set, doing a much better job of controlling their offensive game and causing the Panthers to struggle on defense and serve receive. While the Panthers made a few key substitutions, it was not quite enough to take the second set, losing 23-25. Coming off of a win, Mesa Ridge easily took the third set, taking advantage of Harrison’s lack of mental toughness.
Freshman Amyah Moore Allen took Player of the Match in JV’s battle against Mesa Ridge. Moore Allen was not only calm, cool, and collected as usual, but also led by example. Her consistent serves, stellar defense, and smart offense led the Panthers to their first win and inspired them to almost steal the second set as well. Moore Allen is a talented leader on her team and encourages her teammates by building strong relationships and making thoughtful court decisions.
