Game Recap

In a frustrating match against the Elizabeth Cardinals, the JV Panthers were defeated in two sets. The Panthers struggled with inconsistency in the first set, failing to sideout when necessary, but then recovering from a rub by making a corresponding series of points. However, their efforts were not enough to take the win, falling 18-25 in the opening set. Unfortunately the Panthers destroyed themselves in the second set, losing 6-25. The Panthers’ serve receive collapsed, allowing Elizabeth to rack up numerous aces and they were unable to deliver under the building pressure of a tough score. The Panther are looking forward to focusing on playing under pressure and strengthening their mental game.
In the game against Elizabeth, junior captain Malaysia Fields earned Player of the Match. As an opposite, Fields demonstrated exceptional court awareness in the front and back row, reading the ball well on defense and moving her attacks around in the front row. She also selflessly covered her teammates, insisting that she hold herself accountable as well as her teammates. As a vocal player, Fields is able to lead her teammates with both her actions and her voice.
